Ballet Arizona
About Ballet Arizona:
Arizona Ballet is under the artistic direction of Ib Anderson, previously a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet. They are dedicated to bringing both classical ballet and contemporary pieces to Arizona audiences. They also focus on education and community outreach with their ballet school and many community focused events and performances. They believe in the power of art and movement to change lives, provide inspiration, and provoke imagination. They are continually reaching out to those both young and old to bring this provocative art form to audiences.
Along with their seasonal performances, you can also see Arizona Ballet outdoors at one of the Ballet Under the Stars events. These events are free to the public and help bring the experience of a live arts performance to those who might not otherwise get to see the classical arts. And if you are inspired to learn ballet, the official school for Ballet Arizona provides classes for all ages and levels of dance. Even if you aren't yearning to become a professional dancer, you can take classes that stretch you as a dancer and enrich your life. Children as young as 2 can take creative movement classes and adults of any age can come to a variety of classes that include bellydance, flamenco, zumba, jazz as well as ballet. All ballet classes have live piano accompaniment.
